Biography
Dr Ballal is the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board of Manipal Hospitals Group and is
also a past President of NATHEALTH, the Healthcare Federation of India. He was the best outgoing student of the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and was awarded the Blue Ribbon. Additionally, he was a recipient of numerous Gold Medals during his MBBS and MD studies. He completed further training in the USA and held the distinction of being one of the few doctors to be Triple Board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Critical Care. Dr Ballal was a pioneer in setting up a Training Program in Nephrology in the state of Karnataka in 1999, and trains the largest number of Nephrology Postgraduates in Karnataka.
Dr Ballal has a number of awards and recognitions to his name, including the Rajyotsava Award (2005), the Aryabhata International Award (2010), B. C. Roy award (2010), Namma Bengaluru Award (2010), among others. Apart from these laurels, he has a number of publications in national and international journals. Dr. Ballal is actively involved in Corporate Social Responsibility Endeavors through his family trust named ‘M/s. Belanje Sanjeeva Hegde Trust.’
